Help us bring Open Heart Surgery to Chesapeake!
Chesapeake Regional Healthcare (CRH) is on a mission to bring open heart surgery to our community. Sentara contested our application, and in response the State Health Commissioner made them a party to its further review. Another Informal Fact-Finding Conference (IFFC) is now scheduled for April 12 in Richmond where we will justify our need for an Open Heart Surgery program and respond to Sentara’s claims. Because of this, it looks like we will not have a final decision from the Commissioner until June.
Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in our area. We believe our residents deserve timely access to life-saving services close to home, or at least closer to home for our friends in northeast North Carolina. Help us prove how much this community wants and needs an open heart surgery program!
Here’s how you can help:
- Send a letter:
- Write a letter addressed to State Health Commissioner, Norman Oliver, MD, MA, describing why you support CRH’s open heart surgery application. Include any positive experiences you’ve had at CRH and/or personal heart disease related stories and information.
